I was born and raised in a small farming community in California’s central valley. I played sports, picked almonds and enjoyed playing in the orchards during irrigation time. After graduating high school, I attended Brigham Young University, obtaining my BS in psychology and my MS in marriage and family therapy. My favorite memories during that time are hiking in the several nearby canyons, marrying my sweetheart and some wonderful experiences with some of my first clients. Following graduation, we both pursued our doctoral degrees in Southern California, added four kids to the mix and put our beloved dog to rest. We spent ten years in Loma Linda, and although a wonderful place for a time, we knew it wasn’t where we would be from. After several visits to see some dear friends from Reno we knew this was the place for our family. We absolutely love Reno and being a part of this wonderful community! Mostly we enjoy exploring the amazing parks, geocaching, skiing and trying not to burn the chicken on our BBQ. 🙂
I obtained my MS from Brigham Young University (2004) and my PhD from Loma Linda University (2009), both in marriage and family therapy. My clinical experience over the past 18 years includes experience gained in the following settings:
